Objetive: to describe the advantages and disadvantages of the multicriteria methodology as part of the process for decision making in health technologies evaluation. Method: a panel by researchers was conformed to develop the multicriteria process defined by the ISPOR Task Force for the evaluation of a sanitary technology. The panel central question was focused on the advantages and disadvantages of applying this method; with the results to the question by each panelist, a weighting score was carried out that defined the main advantages and disadvantages observed. Results: Among the main advantages found was that the methodology for the application of the multicriteria is easy to understand in 100% of the participants (clinical experts, patients or users, decision makers, health personnel, pharmaceutical industry, and researchers); On the one hand, 82.5% of the participants agreed that this process for the evaluation of health technologies is useful. On the other hand, regarding the main disadvantage, it was observed that 20% have a great difficulty in establishing the scales of measurement of the selected criteria, mainly in those proposed by the patients. Conclusion: The technology evaluation process can be enriched with the application of the multicriteria methodology because it considers the perspective of all the actors involved in the use of a health technology.
