OBJECTIVES: to define economic impact generated by the pharmaceutical service due to the validation of the prescription and/or the authorization of medications dispensed in +helPharma IPS. METHODS: cross-sectional study, of type observational in patients with chronic diseases. When a patient arrive at pharmacy service to claim their medication, was subjected to the follow steps: 1) validation of the prescription by phisysian and the order by ensurer institute, 2) pharmacological risks identification focused in the incorrect quantity, higher time of neccesary and an incorrect doses, 3) patient remission to pharmacotherapeutic follow-up program, 4) correction of risk pharmacological by physician or by the ensurer institution (adjust of doses or stop the medication prescription). The observation time was Between June 2016 and June 2017. RESULTS: 1.499 patients were analyzed, the saving was 526.039 USD. The distribution by diseases type was: 69.3% respiratory, 16.8% cancer, 3.1% pain and 10.7% other 12 different diseases. The most prevalent medications were fluticasone furoato (7%) and fexofenadine (5.7%) and the pharmacological risks were duplicated orders (39.4%), change of therapy and the patient continued claim the medication (20.6%) and stopping medication by the physician and the patient continued claim it (18.3%). CONCLUSIONS: an adequate validation between the prescription and the authorization of the medication by the pharmacist staff can perform important saving for the health system
