OBJECTIVES: According to the data of national survey in 2022, almost 71% of people felt severe stress due to wartime. The main causes were: war, financial difficulties, deterioration of health. Only 41% of Ukrainians have a satisfactory state of their own mental health. During the wartime, pharmacists are the first to communicate with people who feel anxiety, fear, and irritation.

METHODS: Survey of pharmacists using the Google forms, analysis of the list of medicines for stress treatment.

RESULTS: We conducted a survey of 125 pharmacists about the state of their mental health during wartime in March-May, 2023. Pharmacists noted the main 5 conditions (52%-75% of the respondents) anxiety, poor sleep, lack of motivation, depression, eating disorders. We found that 78% of pharmacists are not productive while working in a pharmacy, and 28% of pharmacists are unable to continue working due to attention deficit disorder. It was found that 35% of pharmacists experienced mood dysfunction due to the war due to poor sleep, because there is a great fear of not hearing the alarm signal about the danger at night.

CONCLUSIONS: We established that during the wartime, 82% of pharmacists noted a significant impact of the war on their mental health, social activities. Also, 42% of pharmacists noted that concomitant diseases progress against the background of stress. So there is a need for additional professional training to improve the mental health of pharmacists.
