Correction Training in Case of Increased Anterior Pelvic Tilt

Objectives: Nowadays, the prolonged sitting and a sedentary lifestyle later results in characteristic muscle pain, reduced joint range of motion, and inflexible muscle extensibility. The aim of my research is to prove the effectiveness of stretching techniques, sensorimotoric training and strengthening exercises, posture correction in students whose pelvis is tilted more anteriorly. Methods: 20 students from University of Pécs with downer crossed syndrome participated, 10 people in the training and 10 people in the control group. The research lasted 3 months, with 2 trainings per week (2019 September-December). Data were recorded before and after the training. Lumbar motor control (LMK) using Stabilizer Pressure BIO-Feedback instrument, pelvic tilt using pelvic inclinometer, weak muscle strength using MicroFET2, Kraus-Weber test, Core test were assessed, Thomas test and the degree of low back pain using the VAS scale and ODI questionnaire. Results: There was a significant difference in the training group for LMK (before: 5.9±2.1 Hgmm; after: 3.6±1.3 Hgmm; p=0.001), it was not significant in the control group. There was also a significant change in pelvic tilt (before: 10.5±2.4; after: 8.6±1.8; p=0.003), in the strength of the m. gluteus maximus, but only on the left side (before: 162.4±15.5 N; after: 177.5±39.9 N; p=0.01). Abdominal muscle strength (before: 2±2.5; after: 8±2.5; p=0.001), and the strength of the trunk muscles also showed a significant improvement in case of core muscles (before: 3.5±1.9; after: 5.8±1.6; p=0.001). The VAS scale showed no significant decrease (p=0.05), while the ODI questionnaire showed a significant difference (before: 12.6±6.1%; after: 10±4.8% p=0.003). There was a 30% improvement in the extensibility of m. iliopsoas. The correlation shown only insignificant results. Conclusions: Based on the results obtained and the data from international research, it can be said that the training is effective for the corrective therapy of anterior pelvic tilt.
