OBJECTIVES : To access and improve knowledge, attitude and practice regarding medication error among medical and dental professionals.

METHODS : This was a Prospective Interventional study which was carried out for a period of six months at a) Basaveshwara Medical College Hospital & research centre and b) SJM Dental College and Hospital, Chitradurga.

RESULTS : A total of 111 students were selected. Out of these 111 students 43 were males and 68 were females. Out of 111, 68 were MBBS students and 43 were BDS students. Significant level of difference (p value<0.0001) in KAP score was reported between pre and post knowledge sharing session.

CONCLUSIONS : This study concludes that medical and dental interns had limited knowledge regarding medication error. The awareness in terms of knowledge was significantly low in medical interns compared to dental interns. Also, knowledge on medication error among participants had improved significantly after conducting structural education session.
