OBJECTIVES: To explore the pharmacist's Knowledge of Project Management proposal in Saudi Arabia.

METHODS: It is a 4-months cross-sectional survey on knowledge of pharmacist about Project management professional. The survey consisted of two-part demographic information, and second part sixteen questions about two domain. Part one about the basic knowledge of the project management that’s included the phases or stages of project management, Project Management process. Part two about knowledge of project proposal that’s covered the Project Management proposal or chart the resources of project management, software used in the project management tool. The 5-point Likert response scale system used. The survey made an electronic format, and it analyzed part two the knowledge of the Project Management proposal or chart through survey monkey system.

RESULTS: The total respondents were (277) pharmacists. Of those 68 (25.09%) knew about project management professional only. The pharmacists showed adequate knowledge about Project Management proposal or chart with an average score of 3.84 (76.95%). The highest steps stage of project proposal or chart was Project plan 4.15 (83.0%) while the lowest score was Project schedule 3.60 (72 %). The pharmacists showed not adequate utilization of software in the project management tool with an average score of 2.9 (58.13%). The highest software of project management used was Microsoft Excel template of PM 3.65 (73.00 %) while the lowest score was Customized software of project and any project management software. The pharmacists showed inadequate knowledge about resources of project management with an average score of 3.38 (67.71%).

CONCLUSIONS: The pharmacist's Knowledge of Project Management proposal in Saudi Arabia is acceptable. Most of the pharmacist had primary knowledge project proposal elements with reduced utilization of project management software. The conducting of education and training of PM proposal and software utilization is highly recommended for all pharmacy professionals in Saudi Arabia.
