ISPOR Celebrates Its 30-Year Anniversary

Thirty years of HEOR excellence. A future of healthcare transformation.

Lawrenceville, NJ, USA—March 24, 2025—ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research announced that it is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025.

In 1995, the Society was founded with 240 members. Today, ISPOR is the leading professional society in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) globally with nearly 18,000 individual and chapter members in more than 100 countries. The Society is also now poised to fulfill its bold, new vision of a world where healthcare is accessible, effective, efficient, and affordable for all. Over the past 30 years, ISPOR has accomplished many milestones that contribute to its mission of advancing HEOR excellence to improve decision making for health globally, including:

  • Held its first conference in 1996 with 382 attendees
  • Launched its preeminent scientific journal in 1998, Value in Health, which is now the leading publication in the field of HEOR
  • Formed its first regional chapter and first student chapter in 1998
  • Published its first ISPOR Good Practices Report in 2003, with these reports now being recognized for setting international standards for HEOR and its use in healthcare decision making
  • Launched Value in Health Regional Issues, its journal for regional advancements in HEOR in 2012
  • Launched its HEOR magazine, Value & Outcomes Spotlight, in 2015
  • Published the first Top 10 HEOR Trends report in 2018
  • Set a conference attendance record in 2024 with 10,000 registrants at its 2 annual conferences
