Description

This webinar will aim to provide an educational opportunity for the ISPOR membership to learn about the methods for conducting distributional cost-effectiveness analysis (DCEA). This method allows researchers to provide quantitative information about the distribution of costs and effects of healthcare decisions and the resulting equity impacts and trade-offs. The proposed structure of the webinar is as follows:

- Introduction (5 minutes)

- Presentation of DCEA methodology, including the steps in the process, their data needs and challenges (25 minutes)

- Audience Q&A: an interactive moderated discussion forum for attendees to share their experience of using DCEA and ask questions (15 minutes)

- Wrap-up and polling questions (10 minutes)

Learning Objectives:

To provide an awareness of DCEA as a method for quantifying the equity impacts of health programs and a step-by- step understanding of how to conduct a DCEA. This webinar will present a walk-through of the methods of DCEA, including:

- What DCEA can provide for the researcher as an analytic method

- The steps in the process of conducting DCEA

- Data requirements and challenges at each stage

- Interpretation of results
