Richard Wyss, PhD, MSc, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Epidemiologist in the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His research focuses on the development of analytic methods for causal inference and their application to large electronic healthcare databases for evaluating the comparative effectiveness and safety of pharmaceutical drugs. Dr. Wyss is currently leading an FDA-sponsored grant to explore the application of machine learning methods for causal inference in post-market safety surveillance. Dr. Wyss received his doctorate in epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in statistics from Brigham Young University.
