Dr. Zhang has been working in the Department of Gastrointestinal (GI) Oncology, Peking University Cancer Hospital since 2000, focusing on diagnosis, medical treatment and research of GI cancer, especially the clinical and translational research of gastric cancer and nutrition support. She participated in draft writing of several national guidelines in China, including the Standards for Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastric Cancer (Issued by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China), Clinical Practice Guideline for Gastric Cancer(Issued by Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, CSCO), Experts Consensus on Nutrition Support for Cancer Patients(Issued by CSCO), etc.
She participated in over a dozen of international and domestic multi-center clinical trials. As the local PI, She is now leading implementation of several phase II and III clinical trials on first- and second-line treatment of gastric cancer. She took charge of a large-sample multi-center phase III randomized trial (PACC of advanced gastric cancer) and two large-scale domestic multi-center phase III randomized trials (RESOLVE and RESOLVE2 for locally advanced gastric cancer). She is also listed in the team of a key project of Beijing “Study on optimization of surgery and post-operation adjuvant therapy scheme for elderly gastric cancer patients”. These clinical trials will greatly contribute to improve individualized treatment for gastric cancer patients in China and are expected to upgrade the concept and mode of comprehensive treatment for locally advance gastric cancer based on solid evidence.
