Found and Executive Director
Blue Spoon Consulting
John G. Singer is Founder and Executive Director of Blue Spoon Consulting®, the global leader in positioning strategy at a system level. He is a contextualist by temperament and a strategist by trade, with 25+ years spent inside the machinery of big technology, digital health, pharma, and innovation consulting. His work begins where the playbook ends: in the narrow, uncertain interval between a system's last good day and whatever comes after.

Over his career, he has positioned, launched, and marketed dozens of products, medical devices, and new operating models for clients including Pfizer, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, Takeda, UCB, Gilead Sciences, Roche, Bayer, the Veterans Health Administration, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. He previously served as Chief Strategy Officer, Healthcare at Cognizant Technology Solutions, where he led industry strategy and market development across a $4 billion healthcare portfolio, and as Global Head of Health Market Strategy, Innovation and Technology at Wipro.

John's ideas on market innovation and ecosystem-centered strategy have appeared in Fortune, MIT Sloan Management Review, the Wall Street Journal, the Journal of Business Strategy, and the Oxford Handbook of Innovation Management. His research on strategy and competition has been used by the U.S. Army War College to shape innovation initiatives under the Department of Defense's Third Offset Strategy. He has delivered keynotes and guest lectures at Cambridge, NYU Stern, RAND Corporation, HEC Lausanne, McGill, ESCP Europe, and Rutgers, and is the author of When Burning Man Comes to Washington: A Field Manual for Riding Chaos, which applies complexity theory and systems thinking to creative leadership.

He publishes Hardcore Zen on Substack, a running field report on strategy, positioning, and the art of thinking clearly when the ground is moving.
