I commend Slejko and colleagues for their pivotal work, “Achieving Patient-Centered Value/Health Technology Assessment: Recommendations From a Multistakeholder eDelphi Panel,” which provides timely and empirically grounded guidance for embedding patient perspectives in value and health technology assessment (V/HTA). The authors’ multistakeholder eDelphi design demonstrates methodological rigor and inclusiveness, aligning with global efforts to institutionalize patient engagement in health policy and outcomes research. Their 28 consensus recommendations advance the discourse on patient-centered value by emphasizing authentic engagement, inclusion of patient-borne costs, and transparent model assumptions. The focus on plain-language reporting and the integration of real-world evidence reinforce the growing recognition that value assessment should reflect the lived experience of patients and caregivers, not solely the efficiency metrics of healthcare systems.
