2 Although the phenomenon had been studied prior, inconsistent terms and definitions hindered research. New nomenclature and conceptualization spurred the research community to investigate this important aspect of patient experience in a more harmonized approach. As we enter the second decade of FT research, a look back on what we have learned so far is warranted.
