The ISPOR 11th Annual International Meeting was held on May 20-24, 2006 at the Philadelphia Marriott, PA, USA. As some of you may know, Philadelphia Marriott was the site of our first International Meeting may 1996 (when we were known as APOR) back in 1996.This year, over 1,400 attended the Meeting. Thanks goes to Meeting Program Chair Joanna Siegel, ScD, RN, of the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, in Rockville, MD, USA, who as the, who organized a top-rate program for meeting attendees.

The recipient of the 2006 ISPOR Research Excellence Award for Methodology Excellence is Maewinn Al PhD, Senior Research Fellow, iMTA-Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, for her paper, "The analysis of incomplete cost data due to dropout.” Health Econ 14:763-76; 2005. (Dr. Al will be presented her award at the 8th Annual European Congress in Denmark, Copenhagen)

BUDGET IMPACT ANALYSIS TASK FORCE

The Budget Impact Analysis Task Force presented further insights into their Report, Principles of Good Research Practice for Budget Impact Analysis Report of the ISPOR Task Force on Good Research Practices - Budget Impact Analysis, during their forum at the ISPOR 11th Annual International Meeting.  They are currently working on the peer-review process and will submit the paper for membership by the end of summer 2006.
