The ISPOR Asia Consortium held four major meetings at the ISPOR 17th Annual International Meeting in Washington, DC, USA. Leaders of 8 Working Committees and 10 chapters presented status, accomplishments and ideas.
ISPOR Australia Regional Chapter
The ISPOR Australia Regional Chapter Inaugural Workshop will be held on August 13, 2012, entitled, “New Frontiers in Quality of Life and Utility Assessment,” at the University of Technology Sydney, Sydney, Australia.
ISPOR Brazil Regional Chapter
The ISPOR Brazil Regional Chapter will host its 4th Conference, “Inclusion, Education, Application and Outcomes: The Evolution of the HTA Process in Brazil,” 1-4 August 2012, in Brasilia, Brazil. The ISPOR Indonesia Chapter is currently translating the ISPOR Book of Terms in Bahasa Indonesian.
ISPOR Malaysia Regional Chapter
The ISPOR Malaysia Chapter launched their PE Guidelines during their 1st PE Conference entitled, “Pharmacoeconomics - Making Choices in Health Care,” which was held on March 30 - April 1, 2012. The PE guidelines were established through collaboration by MySPOR, MoH, and supporting academic institutions and industry.

ISPOR Arabic Network
Presentations from the 1st ISPOR Arabic Network Forum: Pros & Cons of Pricing and Reimbursement Systems in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Jordan, held at the ISPOR 17th Annual International Meeting, Washington, DC, are now available. The ISPOR Arabic Network is also finalizing the Arabic translation of Health Care Cost, Quality, and Outcomes: ISPOR Book of Terms.

EFCC-Labs are Vital Award for Excellence in Outcomes Research in Laboratory Medicine
EFCC and Labs are Vital™ are pleased to announce the EFCC-Labs Are Vital Award for Excellence in Outcomes Research in Laboratory Medicine, sponsored by Abbott. The Award will be given to the best published paper, as judged by an independent panel of experts, which demonstrated improved outcomes (clinical and/or economic) arising out of the application or improved utilisation of an in-vitro diagnostics test.
The award is launched at EuROMEdLAb 2009 in Innsbruck, and will be presented for the first time at IFCC/Euromedlab 2011 in Berlin. Thereafter it will be awarded every two years at an EFCC conference. The Award will consist of a certificate and the sum of 15,000 Euro.
