OBJECTIVES: Hungary has the third highest incidence of colorectal cancer. The aim of our research was to assess knowledge about colorectal cancer, its affecting factors and screening among lay persons. METHODS: Quantitative, cross-sectional study was conducted with the help of self-made questionnaires (socio-demoraphic data, knowledge) to be filled out by respondents without diagnosed cancerous disease in the age group between 40-70 years in Hungary.
