Lawrenceville, NJ, USA—June 4, 2020—As a Society committed to improving health and as a global event producer, ISPOR has been closely monitoring news and reports of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreaks globally. The current status of the pandemic and associated governmental regulations, restrictions, and advisories has necessarily required ISPOR to effect changes to a number of its conferences. The following summarizes changes to planned conferences.
Virtual ISPOR 2020 | May 18-20, 2020 With On-Demand Access Through June 30
Virtual ISPOR 2020, “HEOR: Advancing Evidence to Action,” was held as an online conference. Virtual ISPOR 2020 offered each of the 3 plenaries planned for the in-person event that the Society was required to cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Issue panels, workshops, podium presentations, and symposia were presented. A special COVID-19 preconference plenary session, “HEOR in the Era of COVID-19,” was held on May 14, 2020 and was offered free to all. The ISPOR Short Course Program is also being presented virtually with a variety of course topics offered over June and July. Virtual ISPOR 2020 registrants have access to the on-demand recordings of all sessions through June 30 and registration remains open during that time period.
ISPOR Asia Pacific 2020 | 12-15 September 2020 | Redesigned as a Virtual Event
The in-person ISPOR Asia Pacific 2020 conference will be necessarily canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated government regulations, restrictions, and advisories. Virtual programming, including online short courses, targeted for the Asia Pacific market and time zones is planned for September–October 2020.
Virtual ISPOR-FDA Summit 2020 | September 29, 2020 | Redesigned as a Virtual Event
Following the FDA’s announcement postponing meetings in response to COVID-19, the ISPOR-FDA Summit has been redesigned as a virtual event that will be held on September 29, 2020. Additional information will be announced shortly.
ISPOR Dubai 2020 | Previously Scheduled for 29-30 September 2020 | Postponed to 2021
Due to the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated government regulations, restrictions, and advisories, ISPOR is postponing ISPOR Dubai to 2021. Additional details will be announced as they are available.
ISPOR’s crisis preparedness team is actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation globally, meeting on a routine basis with key stakeholders, and contingency planning in the event any changes to future conferences are required. Please know that the Society’s conference decision making and management are founded on a strong commitment to global health, as well as the health and well-being of its members and conference attendees.
