ISPOR 2020 — Orlando, FL, USA — HEOR: Advancing Evidence to Action
As a Society committed to improving health and as a global event producer, ISPOR has been closely monitoring news and reports of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreaks globally. The current status of the pandemic and associated governmental regulations, restrictions, and advisories necessarily requires ISPOR to cancel its upcoming annual, international conference, ISPOR 2020, that was scheduled for May 16-20 in Orlando, FL, USA. Guidance informing this decision includes the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recent announcement advising against the organization of group meetings of more than 50 persons anywhere in the United States during the next 8 weeks, the US Federal Government and Florida States of Emergency and a growing number of mandated restrictions on business activities and gatherings of individuals, multiple travel restrictions enacted by governments and businesses, and the high likelihood that the number of cases of COVID-19 and related restrictions will continue to grow in the coming weeks and months.
While ISPOR is disappointed to announce the decision to cancel this event, we know that there is no other option and that it is the right one for our registrants, members, ISPOR, and for society at large. ISPOR is thoroughly committed to its mission and to serving its members and the broader healthcare audience, especially during the extraordinary global healthcare crisis that COVID-19 presents. The Society will be announcing online programming on high-priority health economics and outcomes research topics, over the next few weeks.
For additional information on ISPOR 2020 for current registrants, exhibitors, and presenters etc, please view the “Cancellation Information” page for additional details.
As of today, all other 2020 ISPOR conferences are proceeding as planned and updates will be provided if and as the situation changes. Additional information on COVID-19 can be found at:
ISPOR is continuing to closely monitor news and reports of COVID-19 outbreaks globally and will plan to announce potential changes to future conferences if needed. The Society has an active crisis preparedness team and plan for COVID-19. This team is actively monitoring the situation globally, meeting on a routine basis with key stakeholders, and contingency planning in the event any changes to future conferences are needed. Please know that the Society’s conference decision making and management are founded on a strong commitment to global health, as well as the health and well-being of its members and conference attendees.
