In this session, we will explore a body of work on valuing and weighting of health benefits via contingent valuation methods such as ‘willingness to pay’ and discrete choice experiments. In particular, we will examine work to date on the monetary value of quality adjusted life years (QALYs) and incorporation of aspects beyond health benefits before mapping out what the current and future research agendas look like in this area.
