GENERAL INFORMATION

  • All research abstract, workshop and issue panel proposal submissions and presentations must be in English.
  • All research abstract, workshop and issue panel proposal submissions and presentations must not promote any product or service.
  • Expenses associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter.
  • Meeting registration is required for all presenters.
  • The presenters of research are required to disclose financial support. Abstract review will NOT be based on this information.
  • Research abstract, workshop and issue panel proposal submissions, excluding title and author information, should be no longer than 300 words.
  • The use of tables and graphs in your research abstract submission, workshop or issue panel proposals, are not allowed.
  • Generic names should be used for technologies (drugs, devices), not trade names.
  • A research abstract that was accepted for another meeting and copyright has been transferred cannot be submitted to an ISPOR meeting.
  • Research presented at a previous ISPOR meeting is not allowed.
  • Multiple abstracts on the same study are discouraged.

WORKSHOP PROPOSAL SUBMISSION INFORMATION

  • Workshops are designed to share novel and innovative experiences in either the conduct of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research studies or the interpretation and use of pharmacoeconomics outcomes information in health care policy development.
  • A workshop is comprised of 2 to 4 discussion leaders.
  • Workshop submissions must be organized as follows:
    • TITLE: Full title of your workshop
    • DISCUSSION LEADERS: Names, degrees, positions and full contact information for the Discussion Leaders. A minimum of 2 and maximum of 4 leaders is permitted and more than one organization must be represented.
    • PURPOSE: A clear definition of the objective of the workshop
    • DESCRIPTION: Background information on the workshop, including audience participation, should be included
  • Accepted workshop submissions are published AS SUBMITTED in the Meeting Program and Schedule of Events.

STEP 1: TITLE AND AUDIENCE INTERACTIVE ELEMENT

When submitting your proposal, titles must be submitted in all CAPS. You must also describe the audience interactive element for your workshop proposal at this step.

 

STEP 2: TOPICS AND SUBTOPICS FOR WORKSHOP SUBMISSIONS

When submitting your proposal, you must select a topic that best describes your research. Topic subcategories are listed after each topic below to aid in your selection.

 

  Health Care Policy Development Using Outcomes Research
 
  Use of Real World Data
 
  Clinical Outcomes Research
 
  Economic Outcomes Research
 
  Patient-Reported Outcomes & Patient Preference Research
 

CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION OF WORKSHOPS:

Workshop acceptance is based on the quality of the proposal and the topic for discussion. Specific criteria for acceptance are:

  • The workshop purpose(s) are clearly stated.
  • The purpose(s) can be achieved in the 60 minutes allotted for this workshop.
  • The workshop presentation contains original scientific content and not just report on the routine use of a single instrument or tool.
  • Examples are drawn from a number of sources and not just the presenter(s)' own studies.
  • There is an audience interactive element in the workshop.
  • Please rate the importance of this subject to be included in this year’s scientific program
  • The workshop does NOT appear to be advertising the presenter’s company’s services or products.
    [Note: ISPOR recognizes that a primary purpose of workshops is to allow the presenter(s) to demonstrate their competence in a topic or subject area. However, attendees expect a scientific discourse, so it is important that these workshops are not used as a marketing platform for the presenter’s company’s products or services.]
