VISION 2010
By 2010, the Society will be a fully international, educational and
scientific organization that fosters excellence in the core disciplines
of pharmacoeconomics/health economics and outcomes research and the use
of this research information in health care decisions.
To achieve this vision, the Society will have:
- Supported the growth of regional (e.g., Europe, Asia, U.S.,
South America) ISPOR groups under an organizational structure that
fosters the development and application of core disciplines while
encouraging local priorities and practices to guide practical
translation and implementation.
- Enhanced its reputation by fostering and recognizing excellence
in our core disciplines, while maintaining its strength as a
marketplace of ideas and opportunities for its members.
- Expanded its purview to include all individuals interested in
the production and/or use of information on the costs and
consequences of health care interventions as well as the processes
by which health care decisions are made.
- Actively recruited as members persons focused on biotechnology
products, biologics, medical devices, and genomic applications.
- Actively reached out to decision makers, enhancing their use of
outcomes research and enhancing membership understanding of the
basis of real-world decision-making
In addition, ISPOR shall continue to support its core activities and
commitments including: annual US, European, and Asian meetings;
Value in Health and other
publications; educational activities; fostering student participation
and development; and serving as a marketplace for networking. [ISPOR
