MISSION STATEMENT

1. Provide professional advancement and leadership development opportunities for students in the field of health outcomes research.
2. Act as a forum for the discussion of all issues pertaining to health outcomes research.
3. Strive to achieve an environment where students can share knowledge in pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research.
4. Serve as a bridge in bringing together students interested in pharmacoeconomics and members of the pharmaceutical industry, health-related organizations and academia.
5. Provide an opportunity for student chapter members to become familiar with the affairs of ISPOR as well as have representation in its affairs.

Upcoming Activities
January – December 2010	Chapter Meetings The chapter will continue to meet every month to discuss the chapter news, financial report, recruitment opportunitites, education-related issues, fundraising ideas, and upcoming events.
March – December 2010	Journal Club We will continue to have Journal Club once a month, with the exception of the summer months (May-August). Note that since some of the students will not be able to participate due to internship opportunities, we will not have Journal Club.
March – December 2010	Recruitment Activities We plan to speak with the PharmD students, as well as other students, throughout the school year who are interested in Health Outcomes Research. We plan to continue to participate in the West Virginia University Student Organizations New Student Welcome Program for incoming students This will give gave us an opportunity to introduce ISPOR to potential student members.
April 2010	Walk for Life and Breath We plan to participate in the 2010 Morgantown Walk for Life and Breath, hosted by the American Lung Association. The event will take place at the WVU Coliseum on April 17, 2010. The purpose of the walk is to raise money to fight asthma and lung disease in all its forms through education and research
June 2010	Relay for Life Our chapter plans to join the College of Pharmacy’s Relay for Life team this year. Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society. The event will take place June 5-6, 2010 in Morgantown, WV. Individuals have already started collecting money for the event.
April 2010 & November 2010	Spring Potluck and Fall Potluck We plan to continue our annual Spring and Fall Potluck activities. As stated before, some of the proceeds will be used to help defray costs of travel to the Annual Meeting as well as provide daily functioning activities for the chapter.
