DISEASE MANAGEMENT WORKING GROUP

Goal: The goal of the Disease Management Working Groups is to increase the awareness of the importance and application of pharmacoeconomic and health outcomes principles in the development and evaluation of disease management programs used in a variety of health care practice settings (including managed care organizations, group practices, hospitals, Medicaid and Medicare populations and public health entities) and the use of this evaluation information in health care decisions.

Towards this goal, the Disease Management Working Group plans to develop appropriate analytic principles, case examples, and research relevant to practitioners in these settings.
 
Key Tasks:
Disease Management Program Development
  • Identify key issues on the use of pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research principles in the disease management program development
  • Determine how to address these issues on the disease management program development
  • Define good practices on disease management program development
  • Develop case examples on disease management program development good practices
  • Develop publications and/or presentations to promote good practices on disease management program development with ISPOR and other professional societies such as Disease Management Association of America (DMAA)
