Reliability and Validity of Data for OUTCOMES Research & Disease and Health Management PROGRAMS

This is an applied book for health and disease management practitioners, payers, decision-makers and students.  It provides a good overview of the issues, what data sources are available and how to assess their reliability & validity.   It is a ‘playbook’ for the psychometrically correct way to evaluate the following data:  claims & medication databases, electronic medical records & medical charts, patient-reported outcomes (PROs) & other self-reported data, alternative population-based data sources, as well as the statistical adjustments/approaches to take with this data.  A chapter on the adaptation of foreign data for local analysis, data transferability, and the ISPOR International Digest of Databases conclude the book.

Publication expected in May 2010
