Editor-in-Chief

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Editor-in-Chief is the chair of the ISPOR CONNECTIONS Editorial Board, and reports to the ISPOR Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Appoints members of the Editorial Board;
  • Chairs the Editorial Advisory Board;
  • Develops a plan for the technical content of the news journal each year;
  • Identifies key contributed research, contributed workshops, or issues panels topics from ISPOR meetings/congresses suitable for publication in ISPOR CONNECTIONS and invites presenters to submit an article;
  • Along with the Editorial Board, identifies key topics to include in the news journal and invites key authors on these topics to submit an article;
  • Along with the Editorial Board, reviews, edits, and approves the technical content on the news journal; and
  • Reports bi-annually the status of the news journal to the ISPOR Board of Directors.

Term

The ISPOR CONNECTIONS Editor-in-Chief serves a term of four years. An ISPOR member can serve two 4-year terms as Editor-in-Chief upon request by the Editor-in-Chief and approval by the Board of Directors.

Benefits

The ISPOR CONNECTIONS Editor-in-Chief receives complimentary registration to the ISPOR Annual International Meetings and Annual European Congresses and travel reimbursement per ISPOR Travel Reimbursement Policy.

Requirements

  • Must be an ISPOR member;
  • Knowledge of the Society and has personal commitment to its goals and objectives;
  • Demonstrated excellent writing, editing, and time-management skills; and
  • Knowledge of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research methodology issues and issues related to the use of this research in health care decisions.
