instrument for describing and valuing health. EQ-5D is in widespread
use in many countries and has been applied in many different settings.
EQ-5D is now an integral feature of many clinical trials and is
increasingly used in population health surveys. EQ-5D is also being
used by eight out of the first ten of the top fifty pharmaceutical
companies listed in the annual report of Pharma Business
(November/December 1999). Furthermore, EQ-5D is one of a handful of
measures recommended for use in cost-effectiveness analyses by the
Washington Panel on Cost Effectiveness in Health & Medicine.
The EuroQol Group Foundation is formally registered in the
Netherlands. The objective of the Foundation is to promote the
scientific interests of the EuroQol Group. The Foundation has a formal

utilized by several large pharmaceutical organizations. As part of the
qualification process they have investigated our protocols and
procedures and subsequently retained our organization. Using OCR/OMR
and IVR technologies, we have conducted a variety of studies in
timeframes considered impossible by in-house infrastructures, at a
fraction of the cost of using typical CROs. Our Credo is of maximum
data capture with minimum effort on the part of the investigational
team.
