Dr. Vitaya, Dr. Nathorn, and Dr. Surachat provided a brief introduction of ISPOR and ISPOR Asia-Pacific Consortium.

1.3  Rationale for ISPOR-Thailand Chapter

Dr. Vitaya, Dr. Nathorn, and Dr. Surachat shared reasons for setting up ISPOR-Thailand Chapter.  ISPOR-Thailand chapter will provide opportunity for knowledge sharing among researchers and healthcare providers, and decision makers.  It will bring people who are interested in pharmacoeconomics and outcome research together.  It will support activities conducted by ISPOR Asia-Pacific Consortium.  Also, it will help driving pharmacoeconomic research into policy implementation.

2. Agenda for acknowledgement

2.1 Candidate for holding ISPOR 3rd Asia-Pacific Conference

Dr. Surachat gave a brief overview of holding ISPOR 3rd Asia-Pacific

conference, including an update from the ISPOR Asia-Pacific consortium.

Prince of Songkla university submitted to be the host of the conference in

                  Phuket for either 3rd or 4th Asia-Pacific conference in 2008 and 2010,

respectively.  ISPOR-Thailand chapter comittee will help organizing the

conference if the proposal got accepted.

3. Agenda for consideration

3.1 Review Thailand Chapter Constitution: comments, edits, election for

president, president-elect, secretary, nominate more members

ISPOR-Thailand chapter constitution was reviewed.  The update copy was

in the attached file.  The major revision included term of the committee, as

it was proposed two years instead of one year.

For president, president-elect, secretary election, Dr. Nathorn suggested

more members should be recruited before the election.  It was discussed

and concluded that Dr. Nathorn’s comment was valid. Potential members

were listed and each participant was assigned to contact one or two of

them.  At least five to seven members were expected.  After successful

contact which deadline was set within next week, names and emails will

be mailed to Dr. Nathorn.  Then Dr. Nathorn will mail out for confirming

membership as well as election form.
