**NEW** ISPOR Bernie J. O’Brien New Investigator Award - an endowed award
Bernie O'Brien PhD, Professor, Department of Clinical
Epidemiology & Biostatistics, McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada passed away in February. Bernie was Chair of the ISPOR 9th Annual International Meeting to be
held in May this year in Arlington, VA, USA and a recipient of the ISPOR
Research Excellence Award in 2002.
ISPOR has created the ISPOR Bernie J. O’Brien New
Investigator Award, an endowed award. This Award is to honor the
long-standing commitment of Bernie to training and mentoring new scientists in
the fields of outcomes research and pharmacoeconomics. A description, criteria,
selection process, and nature of this award are at the ISPOR website at:
http://www.ispor.org/awards/Obrien_investigator.asp.
This Award will be announced Monday, May 17, 2004 at the ISPOR 9th
Annual International Meeting.
We invite you to contribute to this ISPOR Award endowment. Please note that one-half of the
