Patient-Reported Outcomes (Utilities, Health-Related Quality Of Life, Treatment Satisfaction, Treatment Adherence, Patient Preferences)
The question of the choice of outcomes instrument is important both for traditional experimental studies (e.g., randomized clinical trials) but also from a management perspective where the health status of a treating population is being tracked. In this module group, four modules are presented (with the focus on generic instruments). These are: A Typology of Outcomes Instruments; The SF-36 Instrument; The Health Utilities Index; Patient-Reported Outcomes: Construct and Measurement and The EuroQol. It is proposed to add other outcomes instruments in the near future, with an emphasis on those that are specific to key disease states.
