HTA COUNCIL ACTIVITIES
The primary objective of the ISPOR HTA Council is the use of outcomes research in health technology assessment and to provide a forum for the exchange of information, methods and expertise amongst its growing members interested in HTA as well as the HTA community.

During the ISPOR 9th Annual European Congress, in Copenhagen, Denmark, at a breakfast meeting with representatives from the European Network for Health Technology Assessment (EUnetHTA) and ISPOR Officers the need to form an international HTA body was discussed. |

After the ISPOR 12th Annual International Meeting, in Arlington, VA, USA, the HTA Council – North America held its first Roundtable with the ISPOR HTA Council members (mostly from North America) to help identify key HTA issues and develop a vision for an ‘ideal world’ for HTA in the year 2020. |

After the ISPOR 10th European Congress, in Dublin, Ireland, the HTA Council – Europe held its first Roundtable with the ISPOR HTA Council members (mostly from Europe) to review the key HTA issues identified by the Council from North America and identify issues from a European perspective and discuss prioritizing these issues. |

After the ISPOR 13th Annual International Meeting in Toronto, Canada, the ISPOR HTA Council – North America held its second Roundtable (list of participants) to identify an agenda to address the HTA issues. |
| September 10, 2008 |
After the ISPOR 3rd Asia-Pacific Conference, in Seoul, South Korea, the HTA Council – Asia Pacific will held its first Roundtable with the HTA Council members (mostly form Asia and Oceania) to review the key HTA issues identified by the Councils from North America/Europe and identify additional key issues from the Asia Pacific perspective
In November 2008, after the ISPOR 11th Annual European Congress, the HTA Council – Europe will convene to discuss the Who and How in continuation of the May 2008 Council Discussion.”

After the ISPOR 2nd Latin America Conference, in Sao Paula, Brazil, the HTA Council – Latin America will hold its first Roundtable with HTA Council members (mostly from Latin America) to identify HTA issues form the Latin America perspective. |
