Federico Agustovski is the current Director of Health Economic Evaluations and Technology Assessment at the Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy (www.iecs.org.ar) in Argentina, where Economic Evaluations and HTAs are performed to inform local and regional decision makers. He is a Professor of Public Health at the School of Public Health of the University of Buenos Aires, where he teaches courses for graduate and postgraduate students in Decision Sciences; PRO Development in Health and Health Economic Evaluations. He received his Medical Degree with honours at the aforementioned University (1986-1991), and is a specialist in Family Medicine and a staff physician at the Family and Community Medicine Division of the Italian Hospital. He received his MSc in Epidemiology (Harvard School of Public Health, 1997-1999). He was an Alban Scholar of the European Union in Health Economics (2003-2004) getting research and training experience at the Centre for Health Economics at York University at the UK. His research production concentrates in Health Technology Assessments and Health Economic Evaluations and (i.e multicountry studies in LA, country coordinator of NEVALAT Project [Latin American collaboration of Health Economic Evaluation]), and PRO and preference status measures and validation (i.e. derivation of Argentine weights for the EQ-5D). Additionally, Federico was a founder member and first elected president of the Argentina ISPOR local chapter (2005-2006).
Mohammed Fouad Jabr PharmD, MSc, MBA, a Jordanian citizen, was born on November 1st 1976. Upon graduating from Amman University (Jordan) in August 1998 with a bachelor of pharmacy, he pursued his postgraduate education at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska (USA) culminating to a simultaneous awarding of a dual Doctor of Pharmacy and a Masters of Science degree in Pharmaceutical sciences in December of 2002. Dr. Jabr’s first professional engagement was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2003 as the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital. In 2005, Dr. Jabr returned to Jordan and is currently head of the Center for Drug Policy and Evaluation (CDPE) at King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). The CDPE primarily functions as a pharmacoeconomics research, drug information, and pharmacovigilance center. Through the CDPE and as coordinator of KHCC’s P&T Committee, Dr. Jabr was able to successfully implement and incorporate pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research into the formulary management process. He conducted several economic analyses including CEAs, CMAs, and BIs at KHCC and established the importance of performing health technology assessments and economic evaluations on new and costly anticancer regimens and interventions. In September 2006 Dr. Jabr organized, chaired, and lectured at KHCC’s First International Symposium on Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research with the participation of renowned health economists from the USA, Canada, and Europe. Dr. Jabr is a co-founding member of ISPOR-JORDAN and continues to participate at various venues on both an institutional and national level to promote the awareness and guideline development and implementation of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research in Jordan.
Yot Teerawattananon MD, PhD is a medical doctor and health economist. He is also a founder of Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP), a research institution that provides technical support to national health authorities including Ministry of Public Health, National Health Security Office and Social Security Office. The current works of HITAP include the development of the methodological guidelines for conducting economic evaluation in Thailand, the establishment of the Thai health technology assessment database, and appraising a wide range of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Dr. Teerawattananon has ppreviously served as a director of Pong District Hospital in Phayao province in northern Thailand where he developed an intense interest in Health Economics and Policy. Since 2000, he has worked as a health system researcher at International Health Policy Program (IHPP), where he has gained experience in project evaluations at the grass-root and national levels. In 2003, he received the World Health Organization Fellowship Award to study at University of East Anglia, England where he completed his PhD in Health Economics. He has a number of publications in leading international health economic journals.
Dr. Al-Abbadi is a qualified pharmacist by profession since graduation in 1987, with a long experience in pharmaceutical marketing in the Middle East area. He worked with Astra Pharmaceuticals (before the
merge) in one of the biggest pharmaceutical markets in the region (Saudi Arabia). Dr. Al-Abbadi also worked for Advanced Pharmaceutical Industries (a successful Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturer which merged later with Arab Pharmaceutical Manufacturer; APM) directing all the marketing operations allover. After completing his research, which was focused on the factors affecting the pharmaceutical pricing in Jordan, he got his MBA-Marketing from University of Jordan and start lecturing "Pharmaceutical Marketing" in number of Pharmacy Faculties in Jordan Universities. At the same time he worked as a marketing consultant and trainer for many local companies and drug stores. Being a pharmacist and holding a master degree in marketing, Dr Al-Abbadi had an opportunity to complete his PhD in PharmacoEconomics from Queen's University Belfast in the United Kingdom (2006) developing an internationally published model for drug formulary selection which was applied successfully on ACEIs, PPIs and Statins containing 40% of pharmaceutical expenditure in one health board in Northern Ireland while retaining the same level of pharmaceutical service. Dr. Al-Abbadi is currently an Assistant Professor in Biopharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacy department and an Assistant Dean for Training Affairs-Faculty of Pharmacy-University of Jordan.

Pavel Vorobiev, MD, PhD is currently Chief of the Department of hematology and geriatrics in Moscow Medical Academy named I.M. Sechenov and Chief of the Department of Health Care Standardization in Health Care and Health Care Management Research Institute (at Moscow Medical Academy named I.M. Sechenov). Professor Vorobiev is also President of Russian Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (RSPOR). For more than 20 years he has been working in the area of pharmacoeconomics, reimbursement policy, standardization in health care, quality management in health care, licensing in health care etc. He and his team play an important role in establishing of standardization system in Russian health care (prepared over 40 normative documents), development of standards and protocols of care (at this moment over 500 standards and 30 protocols, approved by Russian Ministry of Health). Professor Vorobiev is one the first to bring ideas of pharmacoeconomics in Russia.
This time, he builds a strong framework for dissemination of ideas of pharmacoeconomics in Russia (16 branches of RSPOR, 1 Conference and 1 Congress, the web-site, the journal and the paper). He is the author and co-author of 42 books (monographs, handbooks, guidelines, treatment protocols, dictionaries and encyclopedia) and 431 papers. The main scientific publication are: "Government Register of Medicines", seven editions of "Federal guideline for medicines use", "Big Russian Encyclopedia of Medicines", "Management of clinical trials of medicines", "Economic evaluation of the medicine effectiveness", "Basics of clinical pharmacology and rational drug use", "Rational use of antimicrobial drugs", "Clinico-economical analyses", two editions of "Handbook of Formulary Committee's Drugs". Pharmacist Anthony Waka Udezi was born November 12, 1969 in Ikpide, Delta State, Nigeria. He attended Igbudu Primary School in Warri
(1974-1980) and Ikpide Grammar School (1980-1985). He studied pharmacy at the University of Benin, Nigeria. Popularly known as Tony Waka amongst his peers, he became the Editor-in-Chief of Pharmascope in 1991 and was subsequently elected as the President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students (PANS) at the University of Benin in 1992. He co-founded the Anti-Drug Misuse and Abuse Programme (ADMAP) in 1991.Tony graduated with a B.Pharm degree in 1995 and M.Pharm in 2000.
He joined May & Baker Nigeria Plc in 1997 as a Vaccine Representative and taught at the University of Uyo from 2002 to 2005 before returning to the University of Benin as a clinical pharmacy lecturer in 2005 where he now teaches Pharmacoeconomics to final year PharmD students.
